A B C D E F G

My 12 year old son recently wrote the following “ABC” story for his 7th grade English class.  I offered to buy the story from him for $5.00 on the condition that I could post it on my blog.

Of course, he agreed.

Other than a few minor spelling errors, I have not edited the story in any way.

Behold the chaotic story of …

Captain Scraggly Beard
Written by Jordan W.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far away,
Boats were exploding, people were screaming.
Captain Scraggly Beard was on the loose.
Dudes were going crazy, girls were quacking.
Elephants were falling from the sky.
Folks were leaving the country and the fleas were running for their lives.
Grumbly Captain Scraggly Beard was yelling and sitting on heads.
Huey the platypus was tripping people and biting their ankles.
I ran in terror as he chased me.
Just as I thought that I was doomed, and elephant fell and squished Huey.
Kids pried the beast off Huey and cried as he died.
Low screams came from the Captain’s mouth.
My throat became dry as he rushed me.
Nothing else mattered except running.
Octopi even stopped to watch.
Platypus funerals were stopped.
Quails quit falling from the sky.
Running was starting to hurt my feet.
Soon I would have to stop.
To my luck, there was a speed boat ahead.
Uttering prayers, I leapt onto the boat.
Vroom, vroom, it zipped away.
What luck I had.
Xylophones started to play in joy.
Zooming off into the sunset, I knew I was heading home.

I have commissioned Jordan to write a sequel.  Once it’s finished, I will post.
